This week we've been attending the Mediabistro Circus, a two-day summit about the digital platforms and trends that are changing media. We've listened to a number of amazing speakers like Paul Rossi of The Economist, Elisa Camahort Page of BlogHer, and Chris Anderson of Wired and that was just yesterday.
There were some themes running through all of the conversations, and we're going to explore some of them on our own to share with you, especially:
- user-generated content
- the concept of "community"
- the future of mobile media
- education and technology
One of our favorite quotes from the conference is from James Daly of Edutopia (George Lucas’s education foundation initiative for K-12 innovation): "School and education is a frame of mind, not a place." This statement expands our view of education and inspires us to think about learning and teaching in new ways.
