It might be the middle of summer, but it’s not too late for kids to sign up for summer camp. Cybercamps Academy is in session on college campuses throughout the United States. At Cybercamps, students age 10–18 can take courses in areas such as game design and modeling; graphics, Web and flash; and programming and robotics.
At first glance, a day at Cybercamps Academy seems to follow the traditional day camp model, offering an array of outdoor activities like soccer, basketball, four-square, and touch football, along with indoor activities such as Risk, Mafia, Matrix and drama games. Where Cybercamps diverges from convention is in computer games; Cyberspace integrates aspects of the tech world, encouraging kinds not just to play computer games, but also to learn how to design their own.
The camps are broken down into the gamer, user and coder sections, where kids can choose between the options of game design, Web design, or “digging into the brains of technology.” Find out more about the courses offered and see what Cybercamps Academy is offering in your state.
